Some heroes are born. Others are… accidentally laundered.

Ollie can fly. Well, technically, he can “Aggressively Hover” exactly two inches off the ground. Sam is a human lightning bolt—but only if he’s wearing four pairs of wool socks and dragging his feet on the carpet. Penny can turn invisible, but only as long as she can hold her breath (which, for a middle-schooler, is about forty-five seconds). And Maya? She can talk to animals. Mostly pigeons. And occasionally a very judgmental block of cheddar cheese.

They are the Super Zeroes, a team of kids whose “superpowers” are more like annoying software glitches. Born from a freak static electricity surge at the local Suds-U-Like laundromat, they’ve spent their lives trying to blend in with the lockers at PS 118.

But when a fuzzy, moth-eaten villain known as The Wool-Gatherer begins using a “Forgetfulness Frequency” to steal the town’s memories starting with the 1994 Spelling Bee trophy the Zeroes realize they are the only ones standing in his way.

To save Westside, they’ll have to survive:

• A high-speed chase that moves at the speed of a tectonic plate.
• A “Boredom Field” that can only be crossed by being incredibly dull.
• A 50-foot hamster with a very sensitive nose.
• And the ultimate secret weapon: A science project that literally only makes toast.

In a world full of perfect heroes, sometimes it takes a group of absolute Zeroes to get the job done.
