Manchester United transfer news as Andre Onana’s proposed loan move to Trabzonspor is handed deadline.
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana could be on his way to Turkish side Trabzonspor after an agreement was, reportedly, reached over a season-long loan deal.
Onana hasn’t played in the Premier League for United this season, with Ruben Amorim opting for Altay Bayindir for their opening three games. Senne Lammens’ deadline day arrival from Royal Antwerp has added further doubt over his place in the United squad.
The goalkeeper’s only appearance this campaign came in their shock EFL Cup defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town. Onana made two errors in the game and managed to save just one penalty out of 13 in the shootout.
The Manchester Evening News reported, earlier this week, that United were not anticipating any exits on deadline day from their goalkeeping department. However, a possible exit route for the 29-year-old has emerged.
Reports on Saturday stated that Trabzonspor had reached an agreement with United over a loan move for Onana. The Athletic have reported that the switch to Turkey will have no loan fee or an option to buy.
However, Onana is yet to make a final decision on his future and the temporary move hinges on him agreeing to it. Unlike in England, the transfer window in Turkey is currently open and does not close until September 12.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
The report adds that Trabzonspor, who currently have the likes of Paul Onuachi, Ozan Tufan and Stefan Savic playing for them, want Onana to be signed and ready to play for their clash with Fenerbahce on September 14.
That game falls on the same day as United’s Manchester derby against Manchester City.
